Moved to Speyside - Boat of Garten

In the middle of March (2010) I departed from Barrow-in-Furness for the Scottish Highlands (the eastern edge). This is an area of heavy Winter snow, high mountains for the UK, a large river and many smaller rivers, large forests, moors and numerous lochs. It is also an area for innumerable, magnificent cycle and walking tracks and small almost deserted roads. It is also, of course, famous for the bird watching, particularly the Ospreys at Loch Garten, and the skiing on Cairngorm.

I have not had much time for bird photography, but have a few landscapes worth showing - and I will gradually insert a few.
The top photo shows the Cairngorm (centre left) from the Aviemore golf course in April, while the lower photo shows a similar view of the mountains in February. Cairngorm with the funicular railway and Ptarmigan visitor centre (at 3600 feet asl) can be seen on the left in the snow.
